Why this site exists
Anyone who has shipped along this corridor knows the routine. A barrel needs to reach your mum in Enugu before Christmas. Aso-ebi and wedding gifts need to be in Lagos by the third Saturday of the month. So you ask around — a cousin’s recommendation, a flyer from the African shop on Ilford Lane, a WhatsApp number that answers on Tuesday and goes silent on Thursday. Prices are rarely published, and comparing 3 operators means 3 separate conversations that each start from zero.
We built this site in 2026 to shortcut that routine for the community that ships the most from this part of the UK: East London — Ilford, Barking, Dagenham, Romford, Walthamstow — and out through Essex and the East of England. One enquiry, honest guide prices published in the open, and a match with an operator who actually handles your kind of shipment.
What we do
We connect you with trusted UK–Nigeria freight operators — one enquiry, matched to the right service. Send Cargo To Nigeria is an enquiry and introduction service — shipments are carried out by independent freight operators.
In practice that means we do three things. We publish typical market rates on our price list so you know the going range before anyone calls you. We take your enquiry through the quote form or WhatsApp and match it to a suitable operator, usually the same day. And we stay your point of contact while the shipment moves — the full journey is on how it works. The service costs you nothing.
How operators are chosen
Not every freight operator gets enquiries from us. We look for three things:
- Published, sensible rates. Operators whose pricing sits within the typical market ranges we list — no quote-only mystery pricing for a standard barrel.
- Track record on this corridor. Established UK–Nigeria operators who have been moving barrels, boxes, vehicles and containers on this exact route, not generalists dabbling in it.
- Genuine door-to-door capability. Delivery to all 36 Nigerian states, not just “collect it yourself in Lagos”.
Beyond that, matching is about fit: a barrel specialist for barrels, a RoRo operator for your car, groupage for boxes. One size does not fit all, and that’s the point of asking us rather than the first number on a flyer.
What we don’t do
Being clear about the limits matters as much as the promises:
- We never carry cargo ourselves. No vans, no warehouse, no flights — the independent operators do the physical work, always.
- No payment is taken on this site. You pay the operator directly, under their terms, after accepting their confirmed quote.
- No invented reviews. Our reviews page (launching shortly) will show genuine customer feedback only — it starts empty until real reviews are earned.
- No passing your details around. Your enquiry goes to the matched operator and nowhere else — see our privacy policy.
Questions about cover for valuable shipments — and the everyday ones — are answered in the FAQ.

Questions people ask about us
Is the service really free — how do you make money?
Free for you, completely: no fees, no mark-up added to your quote, no payment taken on this site. The quote you accept is agreed directly with the operator, and it sits within the typical market ranges we publish — from ~£5/kg air to Lagos, for example.
Who actually ships my goods?
An independent UK–Nigeria freight operator, selected to fit your shipment — barrels, boxes, vehicles or containers. They collect or receive your goods, carry them, clear Nigerian customs and deliver to the door across all 36 states. We make the match and stay your point of contact throughout.
Do you have an office I can visit?
No — we’re an online and phone-based service, so there’s no walk-in office. Collection happens at your door across East London and the East of England, or you can drop off at the operator’s premises once matched. WhatsApp 07587484631 or email [email protected] and you’ll reach us, 7 days a week.
Why use you instead of going straight to a shipping company?
You can go direct, honestly. What we save you is the ringing around: 1 enquiry instead of 3 separate conversations, guide prices published upfront, and a match to an operator who handles your specific type of shipment rather than whoever answered first.
